logo help

hi i have a client who wants a logo... i have done a few samples but we have a problem! he wants a symbol that he could use as a trademark for his company.. u know like a nike swoosh or apple mac apple.... something recognisable.. thing is its a trading company and i need some inspiration..!!!!
any idea of any images that come to mind when i say trading?!
