Or actually, I don't have much going on at work... see if they'll let you hire a "temp" and I'll come help you out for a couple weeks.

Doing the low-man-on-the-totem-pole dance as usual. For those of you unfamiliar with this latest craze it pretty much involves bending over and having your ideas ignored. It pays the bills though!

My wife has two interviews today so I'll be praying to Jesus, Buddha, Allah and any other diety who can do me a solid. She really hates her current job and needs to move on ASAP.

Drorain

Thats the problem with in-house design...we've skills but our ideas are oft-ignored or our persuit of creativity is sometimes reeled in and steriliezed

for instance:
We were doing a mailing that we wanted a creative method of delivery in the design. The concept was like making case files, like "Success Story #xxx" then we add sell copy and pictures. I wanted to go all out...scan in lined paper, use a post-it note element, paperclips, and 'stamping'

Well it was sterilized down to a tab folder design with paperclips and 1 scripty quote like it was a hand-drawn element. Well when the pres saw it he loved it, but it was printed on line paper from his fax...he says...oh we should have used that kind of theme.

I think to myself "Well no pancake"

Yup the life of an inhouse designer.

I'm sitting here with not much to do, and a bunch of clients on the brink of signing. So it could be madness after March 1st. I sort of hope it is. I'm bored to tears. Jumping out the window is starting to look exciting and refreshing. lol

All we can do is fight the good fight Dro.

Sometimes I'll shanghai my boss and begin working on the project before we brainstorm. Then we he checks out the work he's like "Hey, not bad!" But then he always manages to throw his two cents in.

Sitting at desk, waiting for phone calls. Either it will be dead like on Monday, which since that was a federal holiday and today is not, I doubt, or it will be insane like yesterday starting at about 11 o'clock, which seems to happen everyday, so that is very likely. And I am certain that someone will call thirty seconds before we close down, just like yesterday, and ask a half hour worth of questions because no matter what service industry you work in, there will always be that last minute a-hole.

Did anyone else see that undercover documentary, "Dealing Dogs (http://www.hbo.com/docs/programs/dealingdogs/index.html?ntrack_para1=insidehbo1_text) " on HBO last night about the dog kennels down in Arkansas? It was very graphic. I have never seen such animal abuse in my life. It was a very well done documentary though.

Until the show stops making money, which may be a while yet. This season is decent because there's some....um'...."quality" female competitors, if you will.

Honestly, as much as people complain about it, it is far better than a lot of shows on TV. However, that Brokeback spoof they did last week was dumber than hell and whoever made that decision to do that deserves mandatory castration; I'm glad all three of those cowboy scumbags are going home to clean the sh!t out of the pig pen again. Ugh, I'm sick of it.

Actually, that's not why I like Idol. I was never a singer, but I was a dancer growing up and went on lots of auditions. I find it fun to watch the process, and I'm less interested in the people that make jackasses of themselves. What I REALLY like, is to see someone that has spent their whole life working hard and dreaming ... to see them really kick butt. I actually well up a little bit when they do good, I don't know why I find that satisfying. But I do.

It's kind of interesting to see that gray haired dude pull a win because of a genetic defect that makes him look different.
