Keep it bumped as a reminder :D

http://www.ihop.com

On February 28, 2006 from 7 AM to 2 PM IHOPs across the country will celebrate National Pancake Day (also known as Shrove Tuesday) by offering our guests a free short stack of pancakes*. This is going to be our biggest one day celebration in our history.

National Pancake Day has a rich history that stretches back centuries and has always been a time of celebration. National Pancake Day always falls on Fat Tuesday and this year it will be a celebration at IHOP.

So gather your friends, family and neighbors and come to your local IHOP and enjoy a short stack of pancakes on us. All we ask is that you consider making a donation to a great charity like First Book or other local, worthy cause. Where else would you celebrate National Pancake Day than IHOP? See you there.

* Limit one free short stack per guest. Valid for dine-in only, no to go orders. Not valid with any other offer, special, coupon, or discount. Valid at participating restaurants only, while supplies last.

I think I'm around 90 miles away... but I still may try to make it, anything for free food!

According to the site I actually have one pretty close to me - I did not even know it was there. It's a little out of the way but maybe I will swing by on my way to work :D

We have an IHOP in the next town. When we mentioned it to locals (who usually rate food we think is average as being good) they all said "ew, don't eat there."

Apparently, our IHOP isn't so pancaking wonderful.

Mmmm....blueberry syrup. So goooooood. There's one in Albany but it's kind of a dump.

I agree with Nav, just stay at home and make your own. Make one giant pancake, fill it with strawberries, bacon, eggs and sausage. Call into work, tell them you have a giant pancake breakfast burrito on your hands. I'm sure they'll understand.

I hate pancakes. I also hate going to IHOP and Waffle House.

I'm a little dissappointed that Perkins discontinued their awesome french toast variations. They were yummy. They'll prolly have them again, but I want them to put them on they permanent menu.

This deserves some Lewis Black quotes...

"So I went to my health club...the international house of pancakes. They guarantee there there will always be someone larger than you eating there, its printed right there on the menu...read it sometime."

"So they brought me a 'hodola' (mispell?) of coffee...thats coffee for 15 people. Because maybe someone else was coming, and I don't know who. And after that I yell "BRING ME SOME GODDAMN PANCAKES!!!!"

"They leave 4 different syrups on the table, and I have to use everyone...otherwise why be there...why be there?"

"By the time I was done I was drinking the boysenberry, I think it was because of the coffee, I just wanted to take the edge off"

Bruce Lee would come out of nowhere and drown them all in syrup.

I hear Chuck Norris' beard prefers french toast over pancakes.

I like IHOP, but I don't go there for their pancakes. I usually get other meals, like their Liver and Onions.

Now for hotcakes, there is none better than my local favorite, Barb & Ernie's, owned by Barb and Ernie Feutcher (Ernie used to have a cooking show on NBC). They have wonderful big thick hotcakes, which bury complete peach halves. You can (or at least could) get 1, 2, or 3 of them, for the same price, depending on how much you can eat! My personal favorite (which they put on the grill as soon as they see me come in the door, whether it's breakfast time or dinner time) is the German Bacon Hotcakes... They are a delicious skinny pancake smothered in syrup and stuffed with bacon. Mmmmmm....

Oh, and another favorite pancake joint of mine... Mitchell's in Chicago! I could eat their Whole Wheat Waffles all day long!!

You guys are lucky... The closest IHOP I have here in Edmonton, Canada is about 1000 miles away. Some in British Columbia, and some in Montana, south of me.
