I think a businesses should have company pets...animals that hang in the office all day and are free to roam about. Dogs, cats, what ever your fancy is.

I'm thinking I want a pack of pugs...7 or 8, They'd make some crazy pets....I'm sure it would inspire creativity in designers as well :D

yes...I'm bored

oh and if they are this well behaved...I'll kick em

We work with a print shop that has a few pets in the office... and on their business card under their job title it says "labrador lover" or what ever pet they like best. I thought it was a pretty cool idea, and I really enjoyed the visit we had there.

I want company pets too.

I broached the subject when I worked at the print shop, but everybody figured one might get stuck in a running press, and that would be bad.

I tried to pursue an interview for a design studio once that had a live-in dog. I even treated the dog extra-nice with their people watching.....kind of like how you get a girl's full compassion/trust by schmoozing with the mother/father. Unfortunately, the dog did not know how to refer me ;)

Cockatiels are pretty cool. They sure do bite hard though!

no kidding. My sister had one when we were growing up, and he was the most ill-tempered little critter I've ever had the displeasure of knowing.

I used to work in the rodent/bird/fish/reptile area of PetsMart a few years back. It wasnt very fun when a customer would want a Cockatiel, because I had to catch it. In fact, once time one escaped and I had to run through the store trying to catch it. Their wings are clipped, so he could only fly a few feet off the ground. That was embarassing. Fortunately they arent nearly as fast as Finches, which are basically bolts of lightning with wings.

I would hate to have an allergy and work for a company had a pet in the office that would react with the allergy.

Nothing like a nasty liability. Oh and if the dog doesnt like you and bites you, mark that one up for another liability.

Luckly the only allergy I have is a fall allergy (ragweed), I always thought it was a cold till recently lol.

So who gets to clean up the mess when it craps down the back of your monitor?

I worked at a studio in a building of more studios and galleries. This one lady in another studio on the same floor had a dalmation that roamed around the entire floor. Every once in a while I'd see the the damn thing at my feet trying to eat my garbage. Not that I don't like dogs, but I don't like looking after other peoples pets. The studio had fish, and allowed people to bring there pets in, which was cool.

I kicked my boss once. (Neuro's boss, now.)

He was being a jerk, so I kicked him and told him "quit being a jerk".

But what do they do between 5 or 6pm and whenever the office opens in the morning?

no dro. I don't think so.

Cockatiels? You throw a blanket over their cage so they think it's night. And they sleep.

aww!

Hey, I am thinking of dumping the old "pet" thread because most of the photos were attachments that got dropped during the forum switch. We could start a new one fresh if you guys are up to it.

Did someone say pugs? I love my little guy! As far as the marketability of pugs, they're pure gold. People go ga-ga for their googly eyes and curly tails. Some invisible fence company around the 518 uses a pug in their logo. You can't lose!
