well I like blended asian women, which are usually smaller by nature...The few Korean girls I've known were often times taller and of average build.
I dont like body builder types with chiseled figures, and I don't really want someone who's got a lot of F.U.P.A.
okay you can ask it...what on earth is fupa...I'm going to let you guys think that one thru

Personally it makes no difference to me, but I tend to lean on the side of curvy. I don't think of curvy as overweight, that's for sure; you can have curves and still be in great shape. Same goes for skinny. But a lot of skinnies that I've seen are WAY too skinny.
I see it as slender or curvy (good) or skinny or fat (bad).

Skurvey women are the best, being both skinny and curvey at the same time.
But if I had to pick between the two, I'd probably go with a curvey woman, since she's more likely to be a better cook.

I think Lindsey Lohan is a good example of this. She was smokin' when she had a bit of meat to her, but since she went Skeletor it was like looking at someone coming out of the Holocaust. I hear she's regaining those curves, which is mighty good (I'm still not going to watch her movies, unless she stars in a sequel to that porno Pirate movie).

I think scurvey is something you get when you don't have enough vitamin c.Whatever happened to Fruit Loops from back in the day that used to have 100% Vitamin C? It tasted great then. That was my favorite cereal. Now it's only like 20% vitamin C, and it leaves a crappy aftertaste in your mouth that doesn't go away until approximately the next five times you use mouthwash.

No. You're not alone. I don't think. When I say I prefer curvey - I'm talking old school James Bond curvey - circa the Sean Connery years. Lets assign that body type a numerical value of, oh, say 10. On the "skinny" end of the scale, 2 would be Minute Bol, and 1 would be end stage anorexic. Given this scale, 1 and 2 for me are right out. 3 - 10 are all very close in my book, belonging to my "without a doubt" category. 10 - 15 falls into the "do not kick out of bed for eating cookies" category. Above that is the "twist my arm" category at 15-20. And above that the beer goggle rating system goes into effect.
So how does that jive with what you were thinking.
BTW - Skurvey woemen rate about 5-7 - but they don't eat much citrus fruits.

How high does this scale go? I was thinking skinny (anything under 100lbs) 1 to 10 (being anything over 2 bills) I think the perfect girl is around 3-5... not a twig, but not over weight... skinny girls can have curves so this poll is hard to judge... I'm a hip guy myself, I dont know if that's wierd but I love to see that hip bone pokin' out a little. Not big on tig ol bitties - more than a mouthful is a waste (saw that on a hooters shirt once)

Well I'm not actually talking about the perfect girl either - this thread is making me sound ultra shallow (i'm just a little shallow) I have 6 stipulations a girl has to meet to be perfect (I came up with them while I was drunk one night, and I still stick by 'em - they all start with the letter S) looks are just one small part of the equation!
But since the question was about looks that's the answer you get.

Wait a cotton picking minute! You can't define a woman's (or man's) body shape my weight alone. A 5'1 woman at 100 lbs vs a 5'8 woman at 100 lbs are too very different body types.
Curvy to me is Catherine Zeta-Jones. Skinny to me is Teri Hatcher of "Desperate Housewives." And then there's super-skinny, which is Nicole Ritchie. I am skinny and such is life. Genetics has ordained this so, and I must live with it even though I sometimes wish I had curve-appeal. But it's never stopped a guy from checking me out! Of course maybe those guys are just grossed out? :(

Doubtful, Vixxie. Each person should be happy with themselves. To me, there is a great deal of stress placed on normal to slightly overweight women to become too thin. I'm not a woman, but it's always a pet peev to me.
Nichole Ritchie had an awful impact on Lindsay Lohan, I say. Lindsay was just a little bit chunky, to the point of being very normal and natural. She's as skinny as Nichole now and bleached her hair. I wanted to cry. She's so very pretty.
I think it's less likely that thin girls like you get pressured about your weight by media influence, just your momma saying "Eat! You're too thin!" I wouldn't know, but I am pretty thin myself. Wish I had more muscle tone, but I don't work for it, so I can't complain.
(My vote: curvey)

My biggest "pet peev" is some women I've heard claiming that they are a "real woman" because they are on the larger size (according to the fashion and entertainment industries). Apparently, my small size -- in every way -- disqualifies me from being considered a real woman. That's offensive to me.
And yes, I agree, we should love ourselves and be happy with our bodies.
P.S. I didn't vote because I'm not a man and didn't want to screw-up the percentages.

Wait a cotton pickin' minute, I dont think you should get all wound up over this! This not an end all be all answer to this question, this is simply a quick, hey what do you think... I realize a "person" I describe as being 125lbs would be totally different if "she" were 5'1" compared to "her" being 5'10". I was pretty much going on average - mid-five foot range...
Vixxie
02-26-2006, 06:35 PM
Sorry, Satchel et al. I just didn't want anyone getting hung up on weight alone. I guess though I'm a wee bit touchy because of the 100 lb marker that had been set. I have personal issues with that number. And entertainment mags like to print out a female celebrity's weight, call her underweight, and then fail to mention how tall she is. I've got weight issues...mainly that I struggle to maintain triple digits, and I'm a little shorter than the mid-five foot range.
I guess I'd rather not be viewed as a "skeleton" although that's how I have felt. Lots of people assume that when someone is thin that they must starve themselves. And thanks to people like Lindsay Lohan, I'm perceived as having an eating disorder. And you know what, they're right, I do. I can eat and eat and eat and not gain a pound, but I don't toss up in the loo.
Satchel
02-26-2006, 08:00 PM
Unfortunatly when I see a "skeleton" as you called it, I dont think eating disorder. In my rural area it causes me to think "Meth Head". Though you can tell when someone is healthy and weighing in at 100lbs and when someone is methed out and weighs 100lbs. I'm sure if I were to see you I wouldn't think meth... but I know plenty of people that you dont even have to speculate, you down right KNOW it's meth. I guess I dont know where this is going - Maybe it's just to let you know not everyone thinks you have an eating disorder - hope that brightens your day :)

hey vixxie,
i do know that some women,(im a man but i thought id share something with you) do have struggles maintaining weight. I mean, keeping weight up. I know that much of it has to with body chemistry and hormones. Hormones affect women in more ways and more drastically than men, its just a fact. I have had personal experience with people who have had similar struggles. Youre not alone on that one. Really what makes you an attractive person is how you carry yourself. Be comfortable in your own skin and eat like you want to. At least you dont have to watch what you eat or worry about exercise. I bet you are attractive. One thing i have learned(from being an athlete myself and hearing from nutritionists) is that eating more alone doesnt always help you gain weight. In some people their metabolism is so high that they burn off fats and meals very easily, and the more you eat, the more you spark a rise in metabolism.(this is of course different in different people.) You would be surprised to know that if you exercise MILDLY and follow your exercise with hearty but healthy meals, you will actually put on weight, in the form of more muscle(not body builder mind you) and your body will be stimulated to store fats for later use. Excercise could be like 2 or 3 times a week, including jogging, ty bo, lunges, lifting light weights, or any particular athletic sport you like to play. TOO MUCH excercise will have an opposite effect, because you will be burning off your reseves plus meals so your weight will be down, and you will probably be tired most of the time. Its a happy balance type of thing. Just wanted you to know that there are things you can do to change your figure, but the most important thing to know is that it doesnt define WHO you are. Personally, i like a balance between curvy and skinny, but its not much of a thing, im more attracted to a girl's mind, attitude, and personality, than her body. I react to her body as a secondary facet. But thats just me. Guys are different. But remember that anyone who classifies you like that is not worth your time, and you should not worry about their opinions because they dont know you. Wow, i went on for a while about that sorry :) i hope ive helped you some.
Vixxie
02-26-2006, 10:03 PM
Wow, this has turned into group therapy in a roundabout way. :-) I'm not knocking it though.
Thanks Alex & Satchel for your words. Rest assured I'm not a "meth head" as they've removed all those cold & sinus meth-ladled medications off the pharmacy shelves. I can't get my stuff anymore. :-( Kidding.
I've heard, from my boyfriend (who visits the gym 5 days a week), all about building muscle mass. And I do exercise, somehat. I like to walk briskly. But most of the time, like others, I'm sitting in front of a computer. I think I am blessed with a very high metabolism, but cursed with a stomach that doesn't like a lot of fatty foods. :-(
I've been a slender adult for years. Then I got sick, 6 months back with stomach problems, and became like a stick insect. I've always liked being slender, but not to the point where my small clothes no longer look good on me. Over the past 6 months, I've struggled to put my lost weight back on. And when you research, online or in books or magazines, there's so few sources for people who are underweight. I realize we're living in times of weight loss obsession, but people, like me, get left out in the dark. It's unheathly to be underweight as well as be overweight.
For the record, I like slender (not skinny) and curvy women...although I say this from a straight female's perspective (Salma Hayek is hot, but then so is Charlize Theron). Skeletal frames are not attractive. Nicole Ritchie scares me! I strive hard not to look like her. She looks like she's starving herself to me. You don't just suddenly go from slightly overweight (or out-of-shape) to skin 'n' bones, and keep dropping. She's got the heroine chic look.
Total shot in the dark here Vixxie but have you had your thyroid checked? I've had issues with mine all my life and it can manifest itself exactly as you described. An injury or illness can often trigger it out of whack. Other symptoms are red or slightly buggy eyes. Might be worth a checkup cause it's pretty easy to treat.
Vixxie
02-26-2006, 10:58 PM
Yeah, Kool, I've had blood tests that have checked my thyroid and it's clean. I've also had an endoscopy and a lovely colonoscopy. And frankly, I'd take a colonoscopy over a dentist's visit! You don't remember a thing!
My diagnosis from my gastroenterologist: I've got plain old I.B.S., which has been a bitch to manage. Trying to eat foods that don't cause my tummy to rumble has been a challenge. But hey, I'm thankful that it isn't something much more serious like cancer or Crohn's disease.
And who knows, maybe I've got some nutrient malasborption disorder?

Bah - that's crazy. First of all, you can't judge a woman's "fitness" based on weight. I'm 5'5" and about 140#, but it's all muscle. I work out 5+ days a week, biking, resistance training, crunches, the whole 9 yards... and even though I ran track and cross country when I was in school, I doubt I've ever been in better shape than I am now.
IBS sucks, btw. I dated a guy who had it and had to watch everything he ate... it was awful. If you haven't already, you might want to take an acidophilus supplement, available at most grocery stores. It helps to regulate the helpful bacteria in your digestive tract.

Vixxie - so thankful that you don't have Chron's! My best friends sister in law has that and it can be quite bad at times. I have a friend who has IBS and he has to be very careful about what he eats as well. He has been dealing with it for quite some time and does pretty well now so I hope that soon you get to where you find it much easier to manage as you learn what you can and can not eat!

I think there's some confusion. I said LL was curvy, not overweight...though technically she may be, if you want to get down to it, every player in the NFL is overweight. Now whether or not they're out of shape is a different story. Curvy doesn't mean fat and out of shape. Hell, I'm "overweight", but I can run faster and further than I could in high school, sprinting and long distance, and I'm stronger as well. I'm in excellent shape, though I'm overweight.
Basically what morea said. The whole BMI (body mass index) is pretty much useless when you don't factor in muscle mass...it's basically height vs. weight. Muscle is more dense than fat, and thus the BMI alone is kinda pointless.

Regarding the discussion on the BMI rating, I hate that scoring system. According to that logically I shouldn't be alive.Stupid.
Different shapes need to be different sizes. One size does not fit all. What's healthy for some would be bad for others. I try to let my body tell me what it wants/needs. I don't over indulge and I don't say no. It's all about moderation.

WHAT! I Give you Teri Hatcher but Catherine Zeta? Hmm... she's beautiful BUT Curvy is J-Lo, Salma Hayek, Shakira, Jessica Alba, Etc. AND Skinny is, yes, Teri hatcher, Kate Moss, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Beil, Etc.
I love them all BUT my preference is CURVY!!!

Kate Moss is nasty skinny...and a cokehead.
Honestly, if you honor the new and special "holiday" on March 14th, skinny or curvy, it won't matter.

Hmm. Hopefully being a girl doesn't impede on the discussion (yeah, I doubt you guys'll mind) but I prefer curvier girls myself. I don't get the concept of skin and bones being attractive when having something soft to cuddle is so much more appealing. Isn't that the point of boobs, anyway?
kekeke.
On that note, I also tend to like guys with more bulk. Either built or a little chubby, but never skinny. Oh no.

I'm sure that is the point of boobs, but I am not a boob man myself... not all guys are. I am more of a quality over quantity type of guy!

Big boobs is good quality. Massive boobs is excessive quantity.

I'm just saying, don't look like a freak of nature.
Worked with a girl at my last job who was really skinny, and one week got a boob job and afterwards she looked ridiculous.

bah, I don't get why men are so hung up on boob size. Seriously, girls are told "looks aren't everything, it's what's inside that counts", and then they step out the door into reality and find out what a crock of shitz that is.
I knew a girl who was as sweet as could be, and was so completely brainwashed by her horrible boyfriend that she would constantly (a) apologize to him that she didn't look like "the girls at the strip club" and (b) tell everyone "I can't wait until me and (jacka$$) get married so I can get breast implants and he will think I am pretty."

I dont really care about boob size - unless they're too big. small to medium, no problem!!

morea, that guy sounds like an A-hole.
Nice boobs are nice, but if a guy can't get past boobs that are too small/large, he's probably not worth any girl's time.
Besides, I care about the size of women's breasts as they do about the size of a man's penis...oh crap.

reuber - that guy's nickname actually WAS "the ass". And on top of the crapty attitude, he wasn't much to look at, either. I guess he was a little starry-eyed, thinking that the women he paid to slide all over him would have had any use for him if he ran into them when they weren't "working"...
sorry about the tangent above, I forgot to include my <rant> tags. :o

I was at a concert one with a friend and this jerk gets in an argument with his girl. Well she tried to walk away and he grabbed her by the hair, yanked her back and slapped. Before I could react my friend was on this guy like stink on crap pounding the hell out of him. I asked him later about it and he said, man that just ain't right.

i think women with fake boobs just look plain stupid! women look more feminine if they have boobs in complete proportion with their body, it just looks more natural and less "stick-a-knife-in-me-and-make-me-plastic"
thats my opinion anyway

Thats classic, and the fake ones are so easy to spot. I will take real ones anyday over fake ones, the natural look is much better.

Haha, i didn't mean to start a crazy boob discussion. But they're nice in all sizes, IMO. Whatever you're born with, love and cherish it.
I just feel bad for my fellow fems who have the huge knockers that cause back problems. Yikes.
