What the hell do you actually do when you work for Google?

http://funmansion.com/html/Inside-Google.html

Besides have a good time.

Seriously though, what do you do when working for a search engine? Is it just an army of code monkeys, a few marketing types, or what?

Working for Google means you are the best of the best, get to work on some extremelly exciting projects, and get to live a life knowing that you are actually being rewarded for your skill and dedication. Working for Google means you never have to worry about getting a job again.

One of the Dot.coms that made it I see. We used to do installs for places like that all over Boston. Kids riding around on scooters coming to see what we were installing and how we did it, lots of tense phone conversations going on and toys, gawdam toys EVERYWHERE!
Man, did they die quick.
Me, I wouldn't want to work there, but I'd love some of those perks at where I do work.
:D

I like the perks at my current job just fine. Every meal is paid for, decent schedule (when we aren't slammed), almost total control over the final design and direction, and today, for lunch, we got drunk. Yay.

Oh yeah, and they are paying for a trip to amsterdam. Everything. Food, tickets, hotel. I leave the day after my bday :)

I think that I can say **** working for google at the moment and actually believe it.

looks like just about any really good corporation or small agency that treats employees well.

The newest Google plant is being built here in Phoenix. I'm sure it won't be as tricked out as that, but I wouldn't mind working for the company at all. They are making amazing things.

Those photos are from the Time magazine article about Google - go pick it up, it's got the google guys on the cover. I think it's the newest one. I read it while over my girlfriend's parents house. It's a really interesting article.

The thing to remember with this is they show all the positive things. I am sure that when you work for Google, you work there almost 24/7. I am sure it's a lot of work and you get rewarded because it's a lot of work. Believe me that is a great thing, as welll as a rare thing. I just think seeing all the perks might make us forget that there is a lot that they do inorder to make that company great.

Now that I said that...LUCKY BASTARDS!! :p

float around in a satellite and photograph the earth.OK, I always wondered. When I sent in apps to them asking if they were hiring for Pool Table Jockey, they kept rejecting me.
