Mr Furley was a great charactor but to me he will always be Barney Fife. I've probably seen every episode of The Andy Griffith show a hundred times in my life and still enjoy them. Did you ever notice that the show changed to color the same year that Barney left. I never watch the colored episodes. Don Knotts was the life blood of that show and without him and Gomer, (my second favorite charactor) the show sucked.

Anybody remember that hilarious movie "The Ghost & Mr. Chicken"?

He was a comic genius with perfect timing.

I loved him in the "Incredible Mr. Limpet" and "The Reluctant Astronaut" and "The Ghost & Mr. Chicken" too.

He was the original lovable nerd.
