yah, I vote 4 day work weeks as a federal law (or state)...I honestly would prefer four 10 hour days to five 8 hour ones.

either that or someone adjust my hours from 9-6 to 8-4 with no lunch, I'd prefer to get out earlier so I can relax more in the evening hours

me too!

For heavens sake, I only "work" 40 hours a week, but then I commute 10, and how much more time do we spend getting ready for work and thinking about work? I'd like to be paid for that time, too! :D

At a job that started out great then turned sour, I did initally have a 4 day workweek. It was awesome - so amazing how much money you save on that one day not working - and that one day less laundry, and that one weekday where you can run errands without having to try and squish it all into your lunch hour. No asking permission to go to a doctor's appointment, you just make it for that day you have off. OMG, I LOVED IT.

Of course that only lasted so long - they moved the office to an hour drive away and changed all the workweeks to 5 day again... sucked.
After all that, I stuck around for oh, 5 months?

My weekend was pretty uneventful. Sat at home pretty much going through old school projects to see what I can do to make them a little more "current" for my portfolio. Been a while since I've gone out, I'm thinking I'm doing that this weekend.

On the bright side, my head isn't filled with mucus any more.

I just wanna go back to bed. Didn't sleep much because I was nervous about the MRI - had that at 7:30 this morning. Ever wonder what a coffin feels like? Well now I can tell ya! However, I am betting the coffin will be MUCH quieter.

yup, I had an MRI a couple years ago. What a very odd experience!

Did you see any of the scans they did afterward? I got to see a few, and was able to return to work having seen proof that I actually DO have a brain. ;)

I had a 3 1/2 day weekend. It was awesome. We went to the NIN concert on Thursday. So sweet. Relaxed much of Friday and Saturday and went to a surprise birthday dinner last night. I'll have pictures from the concert up later today. :)

I haven't seen any of the scans yet - I am sure the doctor will show me when he gets them. I've seen scans before, they are pretty cool, really.

I'm just hoping this tells us what is wrong with my back. I so want my normal, pain-free day-to-day existence again!

I had an MRI not too long ago. When it was finished, they just lifted me from the MRI and put me in a coffin. I'm better now.

Hope everything comes out ok, grey!

Hope you enjoyed the show, Chalsema. They rocked at the show I went to.

I just checked the set list at Echoing The Sound's tourjournal, EDIT: nevermind what I posted earlier. I looked at the wrong show. You guys had a different set. I wish they played your version at our show. There seems to be two different sets that they're playing, with mild differences in between. I've been to two shows, and though they rocked, they were practically identical save for a few songs here or there.

Congrats Jim on the 1K :D

I once had a job where I worked 3PM to 11:30PM Sunday thru Thursday. I loved this schedule. It was almost like having a three day weekend evey week. I never did anything on Sunday eves anyway and there was only one other pressmen and I there so it was pretty laid back.

Yeah, we got the video. I was so close to it, and there was a draft coming from inside of it when they were setting up the stage after Moving Units that the curtain was literally behind my head! The roadies had to hold it back. The videos were awesome, though our rather conservative audience seemed to not appreciate the imagery that was juxtaposed against a rather somber song selection. Tell me the audience didn't cheer when Dubya came on.

Apparently they are booking venues in larger cities for a summer tour, or so I've heard...that's a lot of shows. I'm addicted to their shows, I will probably go (that will make three...I'm a dork).

Haha... there were mostly "boos" for for dubya. lol! We weren't too far from the stage. But I'm glad we weren't any closer. I'm not really built for moshing. I also really liked Moving Units. I think I'll have to look into them.

Cameras were allowed as long as they weren't professional ones. There's no way I could have snuck one in. Security was outrageous. Both on the way in and during the show. I got a full pat down and they lifted my pant legs and my fiance even got his crotch checked. Guards were walking around the whole time looking for people smoking weed and pulling them out of the show. I've never seen that much security.

I read that there was quite a few people tokin' it up, and Reznor even commented on that.

From what I read, you should have grabbed breakfast at IHOP after the show. ;)

Fingers are crossed for ya. Being unattached from a telephone is extemely liberating, especially when you're designing something. I don't get how anyone can do design work when there's always that constant interruption.

Was supposed to go to Mardi Gras this weekend except some of my friends already had other plans. Granted those were made in advance, but yet it's so disappointing...remember those days around high school and college when you and your pals had such "synergy" with nights out on the town? :(

These days it just simply cramps a guy's style. I'm now pushing for us to go down on Fat Tuesday, but I'm willing to put $100 down that either 1.) it's too cold or 2.) someone excuses themselves out of that one.

Yeah, not much of a weekend for me I have been so busy trying to get the kids room done and I am running out of time. The doctor tells us it will be another 6 weeks but my gut tells me any day now. I have learned to listen to my gut, after all it always tells me when I am hungry and its always right.

Reuber what if you were to sabotage the phone system and act like you don't know what happened? You know kind of like in school when someone would pull the fire alarm or call in a bomb threat so everyone could go home early.

I remember doing an all nigher for a school project once, then coming in to work that morning, and then going to class to find out that the due date got pushed back two days. I was too tired to be mad.

this weekend was pretty eventful for me. Had a big conference to go to on Saturday, then left there, got my hairs cut, and went to a big, ritzy b-day party for oe of my wife's ex-coworkers. it was cool.
Sunday, we hiked up a mountain, with a friend that came into town for the conference, then we got new phones. (new matching RAZR's). so it was a good, if too short weekend. :D

I went to a dinner party Saturday night with a lot of drama. In a nut shell, drunk lesbian friend messed around with out of town visiting drunk married friend. Drunk married friend's husband didn't find out but next day hungover lesbian friend and hungover married friend went off together to see hungover lesbian friend's house and work. Hmmm. Hungover lesbian friend not a friend anymore.

Oh, and sober me and sober friend were sooooo close to buying matching accordians at the second hand store on Saturday afternoon. We would've been better entertainment at the party I think. No, we don't know how to play but we were pretty confident we could learn "Mama has a squeezebox" by the end of the night.
