Hi there I have artwork for promo items that was created in quark. The printer needed .eps files so I converted it to .eps. But now they are saying they can use it because it the fonts have not been converted to outlines. How do I do that??

You can open it in illustrator and convert to outlines or send the fonts to the printer.

In Quark highlight text > style menu > text to box.

Please clarify - thread is titled "Illustrator Outlines" - are you asking how to create outlines in Illustrator? What did you convert to .eps? An Illustrator file?

If your question is just "how do I change text to outlines in Illustrator", you select the text or text box and go to TYPE/CREATE OUTLINES. This eliminates the fonts. Be sure to keep a copy of the document with type also. I usually do a select all then create outlines on the final document.

In Quark highlight text > style menu > text to box.

Does that work very well though? Last time I used Quark it was still a joke to create outlines within Quark.
