Thinking of getting this new little device. Good idea, or is it crap?

As a designer using mostly process or laser color prints, I only use those if I'm setting up more than 8 workstations for production artists, and can't spend 4 hours with the setup.. once you get good at manual settings on a good quality monitor, it's usually not worth messing with these eye/speyder/huey colorimiter things. My friend in prepress corrects his every week, with a spyder, and that I can understand - reproduction is paramount in prepress with lots and lots of clients - if I don't like the color, I just say no thanks to the proof and try again. He doesn't get that luxury.
