I'm doing some research on General Motors for class. Here's a few things I'm trying to find out. Who designed the GM logo? How many different GM logos has GM used throughout its history? Does anyone know of where I can find images of GM's past logos? That'll be helpful. :)

They've had lots and lots of logos, signatures and marks over the years. Their current advertising firm is Campbell-Ewald and they run absolutely HUGE automotive brands.. it's estimated that GM spends about $200-300 for every car that they sell on advertising alone. :) un-believable. The rabbit hole goes pretty deep with these old money brands. You can find a lot more information on generalmotors.com in their history section. They are not really model for brand building any more though. They're just big enough and rich enough to beat th dead horse. I can't remeber the last time I heard someone pleased with their geo ;)

Thanks for the find. Yea, there are tons of logos, sigs and marks over the many decades, but I guess at the very least I would like to know more about the current GM corporation logo. Like how that logo came to be, the thought process behind the design of it and all that.
And yea, talk about a rabbit hole. I kinda figure after doing some light research, throughout their history, they seem to operate by keeping their corporate identity separate from their product identities. But what I found interesting is that just last year, GM is adding its corporate logo to all its cars, trucks and SUV brands. [ Article ] (http://car-reviews.automobile.com/news/gm-to-add-corporate-logo-to-north-american-cars-trucks-and-suvs/1152/) I thought it was a good move on their part associating their name to their products but we'll see. :)
