whatever you use, ensure you do it as line art. I spent a day trying to explain to some "company" who hired some "professional" designers who created it in photoshop. bad move. Illustrator yes, photoshop no. You must think about all uses that the logo may be needed today and tommorrow. Hence line art is the smart choice. Need it 2"? not a problem. Need it 100' ? Not a problem. You cannot do that with raster work.

and now I'll leave this topic so someone can suggest a swoosh.

truthfully, yes illustrator is the industry standard. However, "some" will point you towards corel draw. Just stay away from those "logo creators".

vector art allows you to make scalable logos, and that's important.

Adobe Illustrator is used by many.

Corel Draw is another vector program, also used pretty extensively, but I believe it is available for PC only and not Mac.

I believe that Macromedia Freehand is also a vector program, but I am not sure what its fate will be now that Macromedia was bought out by Adobe.

Great logo package - 2400 preformatted swooshes and a swooshlab for making out of this world swooshes .. probably the most expensive at $3500. I was shocked.

sweet, without ever having used this software i can already recommend it. I assume its the same developer as bevelmaster 4 and KPT (kooks power tools) the best lens flare, drop shadow, liquify software on the planet.

Isnt that the same software that carries that one font? The-Font-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named?
