they whacked me for 67 dollars on top of what I paid out over the course of the year...yup 67 dollars on top of the 5k I had already paid
I miss the time when I was in school, able to write off a portion of my tuition...I got 2k back then...*long sigh*
So everyone else get whacked...I'm wondering to myself...I vote for repubs in part because of my wallet, but it seems to be all bull this year.

State tax had me pay 16 bucks. Big f'cking deal I say. Federal, however, screwed me real good. With my new job, I was going to have a solid $500 plus come in, because I made less than $8,000 for the year, but then Target screwed me over and knocked that down to $150. I couldn't claim my student loan interest 1098 (though it was 20 bucks anyway; again, big f'cking deal) because I still am being claimed as a dependent to my parents because if I didn't, they would have had to pay around $4,000 or something to that effect in federal. So Dems or Repubs, I don't think it really matters.

The IRS doesn't make the rules, they just enforce them. That's the handy work of our Congress and Senate and Pres.

We used to pay in or get a lame return until we got a good CPA. He's able to get us $3k+ every year. Costs us $400 but he maxes out our return with his help & advice. I'd suggest to everyone to set up a home business - no matter how small it is. Even if you're designing on the side - you can deduct many things you may purchase anyways. It's what the big boys do but on a smaller scale.

I'm not sure what I'm getting back, I'm worried H&R screwed my taxes up, but we'll see. I'm definitely going to a real CPA next year.

Make an appointment with the CPA soon so you can get some advice on what to do this year for next years return.

My wife and I got back $400 fed. I think we're getting state back, too. But we ended up owing Missouri $16.

I actually got back money this year! Which is amazing, you'd think the government would need all the money they can get so they invade Iran.

My wife and I filed as soon as we got our W2's (mid of January), we owed federal $68.00, but state paid us $400.00.
Taxes are all screwed up.
