I have a graphtec plotter and I was cutting (and then re-cutting) some vinyl and it started making this clunking sound. I had the right blade, settings and everything so don't insult me. It scratched the surface but didn't cut the material all the way through. Any ideas? It seems like the blade was sticking in the material???

how old is your vinyl? sometimes that can be a factor. Also make sure your cutting blade is sharp. Another thing to check is the pressure of which the blade cuts the vinyl, if you are using SignLab I can walk you through adjusting that if need be.

Thanks but it's Gerber/Omega. Push thte buttons and go. It just started acting up...POS. I hate graphtec's tech support. They never speak english and ask dumb questions like am I using the right blade. Thanks, though!

Usually when something like that happens it's that the blade is either dull or there is not enough pressure.

Ok. I will check my blade. It wouldn't be the pressure(?) cause it is pre-set. probably a dull blade. I don't always think of that. I hate that thing. Thanks. Stupid Monday...

It could be the pressure, if you're using a different media. have you cut on this media with this settings before?

Almost every day. I cut a bunch of electrocut film Friday. That's probably what dulled the stupid blade.
