Well as some of you know I have been plagued with horrible companies for several years now, bouncing from one place to the next trying to find my nitche.
From working with Aquent, to owning my own company, struggling with family owned and operated companies (where the fam always comes first) to my current employment which lets just say is LESS then perfect, considering times where I was getting paid days after I was supposed to. Also, recently here, we had a person leave so I have picked up extra duties, when asked for a raise I got a laugh instead.
On top of all of this, my cars engine blew up this weekend so I now have a useless 3000GT with a blown engine. But that's all besides the point.
The point is, good things come to those who wait, and keep a positive outlook on life. Last week I got a call from a friend who I went to school with, basically our old lit teacher from college is working for a very high profile magazine company that deals in fine art. Well my buddy recommended my old teacher over to me, being the print guru I am.
So as of today, I have now got a job that will pay me $10K more a year, work less hours, and I get full FREE benefits, which is something I have never had. I start next week, and will basically have an entire bi-monthly 200+ page magazine that will be my baby to do everything on. In my spare time, I also get to do art direction on one of the other magazines. This is by far the best oppurtunity I have ever been offered, and they hired me on the spot. So as of May 1st, I probably won't be around much during the day, but I will still step in at nite time and check up on things. As far as my MOD position, I would love to still keep it, but if you guys need to let me go for someone who can be on longer then by all means go for it. Wish me luck, and im sure I will see you guys around, ill be lurking ;)
