Hey,

So we finally finished the online store for my wife's business, and i would like some feedback; please take a look...

the link: http://www.lemonwink.com

I know there's still a few bugs, like tables stretching and stuff like that, but let me know what you think of the whole general look of it, as well as how easy it is to navigate...you know, that whole "online shopping experience" lol...

(fyi: I only did the design and layout of it, a friend of mine (www.burningdog.com) did all the programming in ASP and built the database/cart in its entirety from scratch.)

thanks!

Looks really nice.
The only problem I have with it is that the tagline on the logotype is really hard to read.

It's okay and it'll probably work fine - nothing really grabs my eye and nothing wants to make me leave immediately. So to critique: I'm not digging the photography at all.. it all looks like it was taken in someone's bedroom or livingroom with mixed era scenery and lots of the photos are poorly framed with people's heads cut off at their eyebrows, badly white balanced and blown out or really out of focus. The blue border on the photos selection page has to go and the link text needs some treatment.. the thumbnails are kind of big too.. almost every page goes below the fold. The date at the top is distracting and the top links are really really small. I'd hold off on the huge amount of photoshop effects and work on positioning the copy on the photos so they don't interfere with the photos. There are wayyy too many fonts in use. Narrow it down to 1 or two. There's a lock in the login bar, but this site does not feature HTTPs, so it's kind of misleading. The light blue background doesn't fit with black or burgundy, you may just want to move it to grey or white.

It looks very good, but the "The newest fashion for women" is kinda hard to read. Apart from that the models look very good :D. Ohh and the outline for the photos doesn't quite fit the theme of the site. Maybe a black outline or a dark pink...

I don't agree, I think the basic design of the site is just fine. It's obviously not finished but it's a good look, fairly pro and slick. THe coding, however, is antiquated to say the least. It's coded to 1989-1990 standards.

It's my understanding that you cannot see server side code....how can you judge whether its antiquated or not??

You can't see it, I'm looking at the clientside code. It's antiquated.

Well as most of you already know by now, i'm not fully on board with everything the w3c does, but there isn't a drop of CSS in that page. Still has inline html formatting commands like bgcolor and such, and I thought I saw a font tag too. I'd almost forgotten what they looked like.

I think its a nice start for your wifes business. The top header area could use a little more pizazz to match the hipness you're going for. The top image links need some sort of classy rollovers.
