When it comes to legibility what kind of fonts do you prefer to see or use on web pages?
I tend to use Arial and Verdana a lot, any suggestions on good web fonts I can try out?
Thanks

Tahoma is another web standard. Avoid serif fonts like the plague.
I use georgia every once in awhile, it's the one serif I don't mind. But mostly I use verdana and trebuchet.

Yeah I would say it is. Verdana is the single most used though.

Lucida Grande is a neat one for the bag of tricks, too.

Do I dare ask. What is wrong with comic...... When used in the right context (children's entertainment or something) I think it's ok.....maybe....I think.

in the proper context, it's fine. It's just that everybody in the world thinks that they have to use it for every occasion. It is so misused that it makes a lot of people cringe when they see it.

I can't think of any children's website that TFTSNBN would even look good on. It just looks bad. In print, there are SOME uses for it, but for web...BLAH.
I think the forum should automatically sub in word for that font, like when you used to say **** and it would put in pancake.

I thought that might be the case. I get people in here that want to use it.. For stuff like real estate signs and stuff. Cause it's cute. I just wondered. Thanks.

I know several people in college who typed entire papers using that font. One of them left theirs single spaced in word.

I once had a teacher yell at me for double spacing. Said it made my paper too long. (too many pages) so I "re-typed" it (I was forced) in single space, some mashed lookin font and set the type at like 1 in Word. It went from about 15 pages to 2. She hated me. Wonder why.

She made you re-type it? As opposed to highlighting it all and making a minor menu change? Did she have a point, because if not, I would have done exactly what you did. At size 1, I would have used Arial Narrow.

It was a high school paper. I had to print it out and turn it in. So she said retype, I adjusted the spacing and the font. I worked my ass off on that thing and she got all cranky. I can't remember the font but basically used the smallest one I could find. She actually expected me to have to stay up all night re-typing. I hated her back. But I passed her class. Most of the assignents were voted on to grade so she HAD to pass me! :D Hag.
