I have been trying to make a new logo but everything I do sucks. Can you give me any advice on what to change

First of all loose the gradients. Stick with Black and white until you get it.

None of what you've got there really works well. Definately loose the last one (the A). It makes me think of a news broadcast or a tv station. (unless you mean it as a reference to a news anchor)
There's something in the Illustrated Name that has potential, but still needs a lot of work.

You need to simplify bring everything down to its basics and figure out what works.
It's a good start. Don't worry - designing for yourself is always the hardest.

I had the gradients a long time ago- I always try to do it in black and white first and then add color- but yes it is hard to design for yourself. Most people are going with the illustrated name but I need to make it have more presence without getting any busy or more complicated. . .

I think they're all a bit much. A little too designed if you will.

I think the top right has the most potential if you strip it down and lose the A in the top corner.

You need to decide why you named your company what you did and play off of some of those reasons.

it was inspired by a story from Max Lucado- about weathering tropical storms in Alabama. Anchor Deep in the marketing storm.
