I currently do pre-press for in-house and four other very large press houses (they have no art department). I have always been running 133lpi @ 1800 dpi. I have a new house asking for 140lpi. InDesign doesn't have a preset for my Imagesetter for that (although I can manually type that frequency in). The page setup in my Imagesetter also does not have this lpi, though it is capable up to 300 lpi. If I were to manually use 140 would that pose any problems? Also what dpi setting should I use? 1800 or 2032?

This may sound cavilier but don't sweat it. Give them 133lpi or 150lpi at the most. Trust me, if they want 140 they will be happy with 133. They wont see the difference.

Also, 140 has never been standard for me (offset printing). Its been 133, 150, 175, 200.

That's what I was figuring. I think I'll stick with the 133. They are running web presses, and I assume that they'll run too fast to keep 150 looking good.

Thanks for the quick responses.
