Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : Bitmap editing in Illustrator CS2
I'm wanting to get a embedded image in Illustrator to photoshop to do some editing, but can't find a simple way of doing this. We also use corel draw here and with it you can just double click on the image and it opens that image in corel photopaint for you. Once done editing in photopaint you simply save and it applies the changes to the image in corel draw for you.
Can Illustrator do something similar or do I have to go through the hastle of saving each bitmap as it's own document, open them in photoshop and then re-place them in the illustrator file once done?
Thanks in advance.

Unless there's a new feature I'm not aware of, selected image and export.

If you have placed a bitmap file in an Illustrator doc you can
"EDIT/EDIT ORIGINAL"
This opens it in Photoshop (the linked file) and you can amend it there and when you save go back to Illustrtor and it'll bring a "update links" box up. Click ok and you're done!
By the way you should always place files and not embed them. You'll notice a massive decrease in file size when you do this! Also make your original placed files as small in file size as you can for the same reason!
Hope this helps!

Yes, that is what I typically do, however I am at the mercy of another artist sending us this artwork.
Thanks for response.
