can anyone direct me to some downloadable colour wheel software that specifically notes both CMYK vlaues and closest Pantones rather than just RGB and Hex.
I have been asked by an associate if such sofware does exist, i still use printed swatches so would be interested myself as this would eliminate the need to replace the darn things every couple of years or so.

??? You'll never get accurate color from a computer screen/printout. You'll still need the swatchbooks.
Are you really looking for a color wheel or just a chart.
I've yet to find a reverse CMYK chart myself. One that will give you CMYK>PMS. Pantone has a downloadable PMS>CMYK equivalent chart that is very useful.

sorry pd i wasnt that clear, he was asking of there was a pantone colour wheel that actually gave you complimentarty etc pantone colours from the source pantone colour opposed to returning CMYK colours!
is the pantone to CMYK download on the pantone site, i cant find that, it would be useful for myself aswell as to pass on.
BTW totally agree ref the colour match from screen etc, i was silly to think that i could find a way out of spending my money on swatchs like that!!!
thanks for the feedback.

TwoGun, the Pantone Guide to Communicating with Color (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0966638328/sr=8-4/qid=1147045922/ref=pd_bbs_4/104-7216139-5163103?%5Fencoding=UTF8) might be the closest thing to a pantone "whell" that shows color combinations.
It goes much further from a design standpoint and has pages of "festive colors " and "serious colors" etcetera...
Try here (http://www.pantone.com/products/products.asp?idSubArea=0&idArea=9&showNav=0) too

Whew Pantone is a PITA. Everything used to be available right up front in Support.
And I just found a very disturbing thing here.
Gotta check into it.
Thanks for making me look at Pantone's site.

The Pantone Guide to Communicating with Color is a very nice reference book.. they don't replace real formula guides, but they can really give you a good hit of inspiration. I definitely reccomend having it on your shelf, too.
