I recently completed my first poster. And although the people at Kinkos don't really know what they are doing... I am pleased with the results.
It is a 24x36, all vector.
You may see it in my portfolio here (http://www.imagineiff.com/creations.html)
(The Golden Ratio)
You can read an article about it here (http://graphicdesign.wurk.net/2006/05/05/personal-projects/)

I'll bet Kinkos had absolute fits with the text in that. Unless you vectorized that as well. LOL!

Oh, no. I knew that would be a problem so i created outlines for all the text. When they printed it, it was way too saturated. Jill looks really tan in their version.

Color is tough with vector art that uses mesh gradients in wide format. Not all Kinkos and the like know how to color manage and PMS colors print very differently on each type of paper and each type of wide format printer. You're probably pretty lucky she only appears tan. Sometimes that type of art has to be rasterized to keep weird things from happening.

The poster looks really good! I also like the fact you have added more to your site.

Yes haha, funny you should mention. I didn't know that kinkos did that. But the girls mom uses kinkos all the time and told me about their policy so we are going there tomorrow.
And thanks senjula

Looks cool, I like the fade away with the bubbles. But some of the edges are rough. Like is her shirt really that straight edged when it runs into her for arm?
You seem to have GREAT definition in her hair, I would of loved to be able to get that much when I did a vector of myself, but her shirt looks like it was loosely skipped over, not nearly the attn payed attn compared to the face/hair
VECTOR is catching on!
this is what I did for myself PRE-Live trace in cs2
I gotta learn your hair techniques!

thanks man,
yes actually, her sleave was unbuttoned. And yea the shirt was skipped over. I started to add details in it, but it did not blend well with the circles. It ended up looking a little dirty, so I decided that less detail was better.
Vector definetly is.. Check out vectorlovers group on deviantart. It is a group of people that submit some brilliant stuff.

You have to become friends with your printer, even if it's at Kinkos. Then you get exactly what you want, and you don't have to pay the extra money or put up with a print that does not look like what you wanted.
And if they have a homer, a poster that big can be alot of fun.
Did you want critique, or are you just showcasing?
