Critique my site please

hey guys,

i recently redesigned my site and figured i'd give in and get your opinions. the design is there, but i still haven't posted my work so it's not complete in that sense, but just give a overall opinion on the site and logo. i should have the rest completed in a day or two.

looks neat.
Crimson Optics - the logo is an eye, and it is red. Makes sense.

I think that the circles on the left could be moved up a little more to align with the content. And the information on the contact page doesn't fit inside the box. Just some aligning issues.

Other than that looks neat, but theres something about that red ball sitting there that bothers me.

thanks for your reply. are you viewing in a browser other than ie by chance that may be breaking things up? because for me the contact page is within the box. but if it is having problems for other browsers i must fix it. also i'm not sure about the red ball and red circles yet either...just waiting for more opinions. thanks again, i appreciate it.

I have to scroll using firefox at 1024x768, it'd be nice to have it all in one screen, especially if your end user is at something like 800x600.

other than that, none of your work was showing up in your portfolio, so I can't say much else until the site's fully functioning.

ok cool. i went ahead and fixed it i believe, i can't test with firefox but i believe it should be good now. I also went ahead and removed the red circles on the left and finished up the rest of the site for now. I will probably add and subtract here and there...but the majority is done. thanks for your input. if more people will give me their input, i'd appreciate it.

Well my video card just burned out. Ill tell you if it works in firefox when it is replaced.

I like the shapes and the overal image, but I found myself looking for Flash dynamics? These shapes would tween in nicely with a mask, also a description of the work would be nice as your logos are interesting but what are they for? Also I would like to see your sketch work and ideas for these to see your thought processes. Its a wicked start though!

How come all your clients are computer companies?

A description of the projects would be better; because as I was going through them, it gave me the impression that they were all made up.

most of the clients are from computer companies because most clients my boss had me do them for at my old job was computer companies. if you notice the websites and business cards are mostly from the same ones which pretty much show that they aren't made up. perhaps a description is a good idea as rikbarwick recommended it as well and i will try to implement that in the future.

congrats on the ATI...which did you purchase? I have the x850, 256mb which is already becoming outdated :rolleyes: .

Rikbarwick: unfortunately i'm still not skilled enough in flash to produce a full site, but can do basic animation. I've gotten several others that told me it would look good in flash as well. Maybe I should make some things like the logo flash animated. thanks for your positive comments man, i appreciate it.

Yea video cards tend to do that. I had an nvidia geforce4 Ti 4600 and after about 3 years it burnt out. Made everything on my screens look like tetris. It was sort of fun for a minute.. but after a while it became a little annoying.

I got the Ati 9250 256mb. I just wanted something that would replace it, wasn't looking to do a huge upgrade. But its kind of hard to do that after 3 years. You pretty much have to get a better card.
