I created the logo and then designed the card. Let me get your thoughts.

i really like what you did with that logo. well done.
i like the card...something about the front of the card seems off...the part in black seems like something is wrong but i cant put my finger on it..it just seems like its detached or like its not supposed to be there if you get what im saying...but im tired...i'll let all the others figure it out and ill sleep on it..
sorry for the very unproductive comment...i'll figure it out eventually...overall well done though

I like. So I hate to say this, but the logo looked like a golf bag to me. :(

man i totally got the golf bag also, If i diddnt see the pic of the scooter it prolly would have took me a solid minute to realize it was a scooter, not a bag of clubs. Looks good tho i like the text

I agree about the scooter not really looking like a scooter, but I like the concept and would just make a little more detail in the logo so there is no mistaking the fact that it is a scooter. Mybe define the wheel a little more or the handle bars, I am not sure but try afew different hings. Nice job though.

Lovely card design. I too saw the golf bag first. Maybe the logo needs a back wheel also?

I think if you just got rid of that dinky little windshield and the mirrors and just left the handlebars it would get rid of the "golf bag" look to it and make it more evident that it's a scooter. http://home.comcast.net/~rnick9/koolsmiley.gif

I agree with most of the above comments, as the black wheel might help. I do like how the bike is the same color as the company colors. The layout is ok, nothing too dynamic. I would go with a different view on the back or on the front to add some variety from front to back. I think a slant in the line separating the info from the picture could at some movement, which I think this car is drastically in need of being a scooter store. Maybe some italics could also work.

Also a compass on your map pointing to north?

Benjo, I like the mark, but again I saw a golf bag.

Personally I feel losing the wing mirrors will eliminate this problem. I feel the mark has nice curves, yet the card is kinda generic with that split.

If you really wanna split it like that, then why not try and incorporate the curves from the bike?

Personally I feel some good spacing and well placed type will be a better solution.

I am not liking the face used for the copy, the mark looks really refined compared to it and IMO emphasises the generic qualities of the copy and split.

I feel this could be pushed. Nice work mate.

Thanks everyone for all your replys. I will rework it a bit and get ride of the gulf club look.

I haven't been home all day but now that I'm home it's time to zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

i only saw the golf bag after i read the posts..
but maybe work on the other end of the logo, to get away from that look... maybe add a seat somewhere?
good luck. love the idea!

yep, I saw scooter right away in the logo and liked it.

the right side of the card is severly lacking though. definitely needs to tie in with the rest of the identity. a slightly more interesting typestyle would help out as well.

the spacing in the ville part of the logo seems off to me. Other than that nice work.

"aguada" haha.. jk.

um...i actually saw a scooter when I first saw the logo, and i also like it. I agree with the others that the bc needs work..and a more interesting typeface.

i love the map idea... i think you should make more of it maybe do all the information like that?

also as the logo says scooter ville do you need to put the photo of a scooter on the card? what happens in a year or two when that model is old hat? Subway dont put a foot long on their business cards :p although it would be cool (but unpractical) if their business cards were actually a foot long.

dis.

i take it that was directed at me... i didnt mean take the scooter off the logo (i like the logo), i meant take the scooter photograph off the card...

do you think Nike have a photo of a shoe on their business card... or mac Donalds have quarter pounder with cheese on theirs???

like i said in a year at most that particular scooter will have been superseeded and look old... whats the guy gonna do then? reprint all his stationery... he'll be well pleased about that!

who puts product on their card? sheesh...

I agree with not having the photo, maybe have a looksy at the lovely curves that modern scooters have, not as literal as a photo and has more longevity.

I used to have that same scooter, oh well a pointless post...

This design practice is commonly used in the automotive dealer industry. Thats what market research is for and any designer should know there market when they are designing in it. I actually never execute a design without researching competitors, trends and the general look of their respected industry.

I agree that the font needs some changes. And I'll play around with the logo a little more but this project is almost complete so I hope I'm not disappointing you guys.
