After searching around the net for help with my CSS, I came across a tool that allows you to copy and paste your CSS code and have it converted into cleaner and more concise code. I also found a few other sites that had an optimizer, but this one worked the best by far. More options, different compression levels, etc.

http://www.cleancss.com

So if you are like me, not an expert at CSS, this will be a treat. When I discovered it, I couldn't believe it haha. A must have for any web designer. My CSS writing skills have gotten better since I've been using it.

It should definitely go in the CSS resource thread in my opinion.

I would never trust my stylesheet to a script that "optimises" it, no matter how good it is

It made a few good suggestions on a stylesheet I'm working on (like using "400" instead of "normal") but it also stripped out a hack. Rut row.

You failed to mention it was developed/sponsored by GoMedia who you work for.

It wasn't developed by us, it was developed by the guys at CSSTidy. I found their program searching through a few different optimizers. It's actually an open source tool that is free for anyone to use/modify.

The version I did find got taken down shortly after I discovered it. So I thought I'd just register a domain and host the optimizer in a more permanent location. The only thing I did was make everything green and add a little logo. I had nothing to do with the actual utility. I made sure to give them all the credit.

I wouldn't trust ALL my css writing with a script like this, but it has helped me memorize a few things. It's handy to have around.

Again, I apologize if it appeared as if I was taking credit for this.

I didn't think you were taking credit for it I just assumed you were pimping your own tool and calling it the best.

fair enough - however you say that it's BASED on csstidy - rather than the fact that it is the SAME, but tarted up a bit

Exactly.
