hi.. i was recently in the states for a visit, mainly in new york..
so being a designer i bought all the american design magazines that are not available here in the uk...
i was looking at ads from various printing places and i noticed different descriptions of options, that we dont have in the uk...
i was wondering if one of you helpful fellow forum members could explain to me what the following terms mean...
okay..
if you have the option 4/0, 4/1, 4/4, i am presuming 4 means full colour
but what does 14pt and 16pt refer to?
thanks.

4/0 means 4 color on one side nothing on the other, 4/1 means 4 color one side one color the other etc.. 14pt is the size of the font being used.

I thought 14pt was a paper thickness?

That's actually why I love NY...even though it seems really busy, and it is, you can find some tiny out of the way place or park and forget your even there.

I like the glossy UK mags myself, there's a lot we can get here in the states. i also tend to read more of the UK bicycle magazines too. CAN WE SAY BIG AND GLOSSY!
