I am looking for imput on the kerning of the logo blow
[Prison Bar Image Removed]
I am thinking the lower one, but am not sure if the placement of the "O" is ok.
Please let me know if anything else needs moved.
Thanks in advance.

After waiting about a minute for the image to load, I gave up. And I'm on a fast T3 connection at work. Try resizing or reposting.

Well, now they're showing up. Of these, the bottom one IMO is best. I might consider slightly tightening up the space between the r and e. But not much.

I don't wanna sound arsey as that isn't my intention at all, but I really think that you need to consider the type and what it communicates before you start looking at kerning.
To me this says captivity not freedom.

I agree with bottom one, kerning is much better for what its worth

True! The down stokes of the outside letter do give a somewhat confined feel to it

Almost like prison bars or a portcullis

I would have to go with #2.
For me, the "DOM" in #3 is getting pretty close to eachother and could crash at small sizes.

could someone maybe resize it and repost it for him, cause it took me 1/2 an hour just to get a red X,
Nevermind, it's probably not worth it is it?

Oh, you're always so sweet morea.
Now if you could just stop promoting such a scary movie in your sig!
Oh, and back on topic, I can't say that I get a very positive feeling from the above logo. It really does close itself off a lot. If you were to just drop the D down more you would make an excellent barred prison.

Thanks for the honest opinions and feedback that related my actual question, which had to do with Kerning, and nothing else.
Kerning:
Adjusting the lateral (horizontal) space between letters.
Scott, your comment was completely useless. The 'prison bar' comment was conveyed by a previous post, and easily understood. Your reply is out of place at best, and could have gone unsaid.
I have read many of your posts here on the forum, and had considered you to be amongst the more professional of the members here...perhaps your comments are just due to your young age.
Again, thanks to those who posted appropriate answers.
I have all I need to keep going, so I have removed the Prison Bars.
Maybe it's best to just let this thread die.
Regards,

a good trick I learned about kerning is to rotate the text 180 degrees in order to see it as a bunch of "shapes" instead of a bunch of letters. It helps you judge the spacing better.
I think you could tighten up a tad bit between the R and E, and that "O" is kind of tough to judge because it is so wide... I would consider changing the "O" to outlines and making it a tad but narrower to lead the eye a bit better. Just a thought.
I think the 3rd is the strongest, too.
Sorry I'm late. Hope that helps some.
