Ok, there is printer review thread, but I didn’t see anything in there specifically about photo printers. When I say photo printer I mean the fancy ink-jet types that photographers use on archival paper etc.

I’m just starting out on a freelance gig and I need something for proofs. So I was thinking of going this route. But the big questions is, if they are so great at printing photos, will they work for graphics as well? Immediately I’m thinking, yes, how could they not? They have to be better than plain cheap ink-jets and better than a laser for photos (or so they claim).

I was looking at the Canon i9900 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001DBHNA/sr=8-9/qid=1147829907/ref=pd_bbs_9/002-8052469-4596823?%5Fencoding=UTF8) or the Epson R2400 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009PD3KU/ref=pd_cp_e_title/002-8052469-4596823?%5Fencoding=UTF8&v=glance&n=172282).

Anyone have any experience as to how graphics look with these or other photo printers they can share?

I have the Epson at home, bought it for my wife in a feeble attempt to drive Walmart out of business. Seriously though it is a great printer for photos, when we printed photos on our old printer they looked great but when you put them in a frame or a photo album they would look wet almost behind the glass or plastic, with this printer that doesn't happen. I have never really printed any art on it, but I have wanted to try it.
