Hi,
I am currently learning my way through corel draw 9 with a view to designing my own website on frontpage. My problem is that I create a document in corel draw as A4 size and when I convert it to be used and viewed for for web use, the page displayed in browser format is way off the screen. Does any one know why? Please be easy on me cause I really do not know much here.

what do you mean "way off the screen"? post the link to the page so we can view the code.

I know nothing about code. Im using frontpage cause it works wysiwyg format. so far I have created the background for my homepage in coreldraw and saved it as a cdr fil. I then go publish file to web. Once the page has been converted it appears in a browser window (IE). The designed page then looks way to big, so you have to scroll to see the rest of the page.

Do you have junk lying around off your artboard in Draw?
Even a stray point may be skewing your image.

So, basically you made an image in Corel and exported it as a bitmap of some kind (jpg, gif, etc.)? And then made it a webpage with Frontpage? If this is the scenario, you probably just have to decrease the resolution when exporting from Corel.
I get a box of options when I export a JPG, where you can enter the exact width and height of the image in pixels.

Thanks PB for the reply to my thread. That is an option I have not yet tried. Basically what I have done is create my whole background for my web in corel draw. The exported image appears to be slightly too small when imported and therefore the image is tiled. What I want to do next is create my linked images and buttons on top of this background. Is this possible? Your help would be much appreciated.

You can export individual elements just by selecting them and checking the "export only selected" checkbox in the export-dialog. You can specify the exact pixel size like in my previous post.
I'd LIKE to recommend PNG format for exporting, as it nicely includes the transparency and makes smooth edges (depending of the options you specify when exporting). BUT. Some browsers (Internet Explorer being the only major one) don't support all the properties of PNG.
So you're probably stuck with JPG or GIF. This makes it a bit harder. If your elements are rectangles, then it's fine. Just export selected. If you have round edges or irregular shapes, you might have to use GIF and try to set the transparency.
Other option is to put the elements on the background in corel, export the whole thing, and slice the page into pieces in Photoshop/Corelpaint. I'm not sure if this is possible in Frontpage.
This thing is pretty lengthy to explain and would require some picture examples. I think you'd be better of getting a basic book on web design :)
