help me...illustrator issues

hi im working on pc.. illustrator cs.
each time i start it up i have error message and it closes up.
now usually i restart illie and it works with no probs..
today though.... (when i have a major deadline)
... it keeps giving me the error message however many times i restart it...

any ideas?

is it when opening an existing file, or starting a new file?
are you on a network?
Sounds like a preference. Have you reset your prefs to defaults or (not sure if Illy has a pref file on pc) throw out the pref file and let illy build a new one?

If it's not loading at all, it could be a corrupt font. Check to see if it's hanging as it loads the fonts.

when i start the program everything loads and then once it is all loaded. it brings the above error message. its working but still tempremental. sometimes yeh sometimes no!

I have to unplug my router to run Illy CS on my PC (it's sending messsages back to Adobe to verify the keycode, I was told, and it's hanging up the program)...but here's the kicker - Distiller won't work unless it IS plugged into the net. If I unplug it, it tells me I'm missing a file. Talk about big brother watching you. And I bought the whole suite ($2000) and I can't get it on any other computer!!! And they won't help me without paying about $40 per hour!!! So, when this system is out for servicing, I'm screwed.

Turn off the auto updater in your Adobe preferences.

We have the same issue here on 4 different computers, some with CS and mine with CS2. It seems to be a hit or miss error, but there I haven't found anything that is a sure fix.

Maybe i'm blind, but where can I find the auto updater at?
