Does anybody know of an alternative way to allow our editorial staff to edit copy in our quark documents if we are using Quark 6 without requiring them to have Quark on their machines. Copy Desk isn't compatible with Quark 6, so we are unable to upgrade at this point, unless we can find an alternative to Copy Desk.

Any help or direction is appreciated.

They need to edit the copy and then you need to flow it into your document? Or you already have it placed and formatted and then they need to edit it? Help.. :o) LOL

It would be safer if you and your editors exchanged copy using simple word processing programs like Word or even Notepad. Just copy the text from your Quark docs into Notepad and shoot the file over to them. They can edit it as much as they want without accidentally messing up your layout and design in the Quark doc. When they send you back the file, you can just copy and paste it back into your Quark doc.

I think this new extension is just what you need it's really great.

Quark just released it and the most amazing thing, hold on to you seats folks 'IT'S FREE' yes thats right Quark made something free. Wow!

Anyway what it does it let you update content with a database. It's really great for newspapers and I can think of a million applications (I mean methods here people) it will work for.

Check it out www.quark.com/products/xpress/quarkxclusive.html (http://www.quark.com/products/xpress/quarkxclusive.html)

We get the copy originally via word doc's from editorial, but then we would like for them to be able to copy fit and do final edit's in the quark layout. Quark Copy Desk would allow them to edit the copy without being able to touch any of the layout. Quark told us they don't know when they will have Copy Desk ready for Quark 6, so I'm trying to find an alternative.
