So this one place I sent my resume wants a digital portfolio, which is fine...I have been casually working on it when I have time too...
my questions....
1. do I put about 10-12 pieces on this CD? kind of like my original portfolio?
2. do I need to design a cd cover for it? and a cd jacket for it? (being that I am very low on money...I am not sure what to do.)
any advice would be wonderful.
thanks

I would do both.

10 to 12 is good. If you can, whatever is in your regular portfolio I would try to put in here also. Most people seem to agree on no more than 20 and no less than 10.
I would definitely do a cd package. Check out www.jewelboxing.com for some good quality cases and label templates (they have them for pretty much all of the mainstream design packages). You can get a pretty decent amount for cheap.

I bet before every work day (or job search day), first thing you copy that link you have saved in Notepad or something, and then it remains in your clipboard all day. It's like your calling card.

actually, I have it memorized. So I copy and paste the link at the top of the thread, then modify the ending accordingly.

Figured you'd have it memorized.

Yup I would design a cover for it and you don't have to print on anything fancy for just a cd cover you can make it cheap. but have it match your business card and resume so if it ever gets put in another place they can identify your "brand" :)
Portfolio websites work wonders tough.
How are you putting it togethor? like just a cd with a load of images on it?
i recently did one in pdf. its still a bit rough around hte edges and some stuff in it aint that great either.
