I need to have a calendar printed. It’s for a state educational program for teen moms and pregnancy prevention. They want to do calendars instead of their yearly newsletter that goes to all public school administrators, legislators and leaders in our state. The calendarsneed to be of good quality but of course as good a price as I can find because they don’t have big bucks in their budget. I’m wondering if I should just go with a local printer or if there are companies that specialize in calendars that might have a better price. I will probably be ordering 3,500 or 4,000. Any advice would be appreciated.
If it wasn't for the last minute nothing would ever get done.

Humm...I'm not sure if there are printers that specialize in that kinda thing or what. Hopefully someone will be able to chime in soon and help ya out :o) Come to think of it...didn't seventh-tyger do a calander for someone awhile back...6 months or so?! Maybe you could PM him and ask him how he went about the printing while you're waiting for responses from our print friendly members :o)
C'mon..you guys know who you are..... LOL

Not my gig, but if I had to have a quantity of a custom calendar printed I guess I would call my NY 4-color/offset vendor and ask him if he did it or knew someone who did.
I take it this is a completely custom calendar and not a 'fulfillment' item?
PrintDriver is a large format digital print dude. His advice/opinions may not apply to the 4color/offset/web world of printing

I know a ton in Canada - Teldon and Quebecor and many many more but you'll have to find a large (22x17' or larger) four colour sheetfed printer in your area.
PD - not sure what a 'fullfillment' item is but I'm thinking you mean one of those stock calendars with someone's name/address printed at the bottom like the hardware stores give out at Christmas so, right - it's a completely custom calendar.
I'll call my regular printer and see what they say. Just thought maybe there was something out there that I wasn't aware of in the calendar printing realm.
Thank you both!

I do three different completely custom calendars a year, not that it makes me an expert. I found my calendar printer through my normal collateral printer and another through my marketing premium guy. Best of luck!

Oh yea, typically if you have the art work in before the end of august (at least in my area) you will receive an early order discount. Too many people waiting until the final hour to get their calendars done perhaps.
