I have been asked to create a logo/ identity for a couple of companies, and have no idea how much to charge (if they use my ideas). I have been a freelancer, but have done work that uses hourly rates- I am meeting with one perspective client tomorrow evening - help!!!

we can't discuss pricing on this forum... it's against the law.

It also depends on many factors, like how much experience you have, where you live, etc.

Check out our frequently discussed topics thread, here for pricing resources:

Do what you have been doing, figure out how much you want to be paid hourly, about how long the job will take and there is your price. For something like that I charge a flat rate with a set number of changes allowed. Anything over the amount of changes will be an extra charge.

Get a GAG handbook and adjust to market area.

Logos with Standard Book or a full identity package are usually a flat rate like Logo-mech says. You have to know how much time it will take you though and you have to place limits on how often a client can make changes.
