InDesign pdf corruption

InDesign CS2 has a shortcut for saving files out to pdf. When I use this feature, the pdf that is generated is corrupt. (text is garbled and not searchable)

Is it possible to reset InDesign's pdf generating engine somehow?

I am on Mac OS 10.4.6.

I don't know about the pdf generating preferences only, but you could try resetting your preferences in InDesign.

If that doesn't work then let us know what settings you are using to output your pdf.

Check your PDF Export Preferences (under the Edit menu I think in CS2, not sure).

Does it corrupt ALL pdf's, or only those exported at certain settings? Perhaps you have a corrupt Distiller setting file instead.
