I guess somewhere around a 4 or 5, considering that my coworkers and I have debated about some "5" issues on several occasions.
The tables/DIV comment is funny. Along those lines, I think it's funny how some people complain about DIVs for building structure (particularly in online articles), but they never, ever mention what their alternative is. Phht.

Well use the same link as the HTML test, just replace the HTML with CSS, and then Javascript. I nailed all 3, I guess i'm in the right biz.

I'm around a level 3-4.
Also the W3Schools is a great reference but it's the technical side of design. The practical side is a different story. I scored around 95 for the HTML test on there but that just means I was studying not that I know it all. Practice makes perfect and nothing in life especially web design works right out of the box.

I don't like that post at all. trying to be funny and wasn't (yes I didn't find if funny, thus it isn't and never will be;))
I don't know where I fall, I understand enough to work with photoshop and dreamweaver to make a site. I can 'debug' problems that pop up and I know enough code that I could get a basic html page out of note pad.
but dynamic content, php, javascript, etc. seems over my head. I feel like I can do almost anything I want, but I don't know how to do it "right." If I look at an example I can almost always figure it out, but it takes time to learn how it works.
75% on the quiz, some stuff on it I've never used. I guess once I learn it I

I scored a 70%, I am sadly currently residing between level 2 and level 3. I will grow to level 5/6 mainly because I am a stubborn, gotta learn it all and challenge myself kinda guy. :o even if I dont need it. I know a lot about biology, audiology, and neurology too, but that was just a phase..... I like pretty pictures and complex code better. B>/

yep. funny. :p that's only temporary. I've only had interest in trying to learn since March. I have no degree or classes under my belt, my degree was in print... but I'll get there, because like I said, Im stubborn. Is GoLive an OK place for me to be learning?.. according to you..:o

To be honest if you want to learn HTML, CSS etc then avoid wysiwyg editors like Go LIve and Dreambeaver. You'll end up having to unlearn everything.
Get an HTML editor like topstyle pro by Brad soft. It's about $80 and is superb. Hand coding is the only way you're going to learn HTML.
Not sure you need classes for HTML. Look at great sites (cssbeauty, cssimport etc.), site that are well coded, view source and pick apart, read blogs, buy HTML, css boos and then practice. Best way to learn

this looks like it might be a great place to start - I've only skimmed it but it looks good. Assumes no prior HTMl or CSS knowledge and takes you through it.
When I was a lad all we had was view source and then work it out for ourselves. Not like you wippersnappers with your blogs and tutorials. And I had to work 26 hours a day down the mine with only a piece of ice for lunch, and then come home, well I say home it as more of a hole in the ground, and sit on a spike.
Not sure what was in the burrito

Thanks for the advice and link chris. I have only picked up enough to get to that level 2-3 because of my interest in MySpace, as sad as that sounds. I did my page through one of the layout editors and let it create the code, but then I did like your saying and went in and "edited" the code to my liking. www.myspace.com/Mac_Poindexter_43 (http://www.myspace.com/Mac_Poindexter_43) But I am thoroughly interested, and constantly looking to build skills to add to my design abilities. My company I just started is strictly for designing print, but I aspire to eventually get over to the web. Believe me I understand how important it is to not offer the services until I FULLY know what Im doing. So I would never take a job requiring web, unless I was to broker it out to one of my web buddies. Thanks Again for poking but not rediculing the use of Yahoo Sitebuilder, they are currently hosting and it gave me the crappy program and I was able to use it to at least get a temp site up in about 10 minutes. I have been working tirelessly on my real site for 2 weeks now(I have a full time prepress job, so I only get time at night) but I was planning on posting here for feedback once I was happy with it, Im a bit of a perfectionist and cant make final decisions... cheers and salut/.
