Hello everyone!
I am currently enrolled in a graphic design program at St. Cloud State University, which is located in Minnesota. But at the same time am very interested in the Art Institute' various graphic design programs. What do you all think is the best route to a perfect portfolio?
By the way I know this is my first post and I hope I do not get hazed too terribly:)

Welcome! Help yourself to the buffet (but avoid the deviled eggs, they've been there awhile).

I'm from MN also. I've seen work from friends that have gone to both those schools and other graphic arts schools around the state and it really depends on the person. If you're really passionate about graphic design, and have at least some artistic talent, usually you're portfolio just evolves into something perfectly you. I've asked people which schools they like best and it's usually the environment, location, and instructors that made the decision for them. The curriculum was pretty similar in all the schools. It's your personal preference I guess.
