I had only a business card to "redraw" this from.. I attached an image from the scan of the business card and the resulting redraw.. .. Any advice how to get it better.. I spot color ?

Did you redraw it, with the pen tool, or did you trace it using an auto trace? If you redrew that by hand with the pen tool you have alot of patience. I would have charged a small fortune for that one.

It was redrawn.. the Autotrace.. Blobbed out at any setting and looked terriable. I don't know how to capture anymore of the detail.. It looks like it started out as a pen and ink drawing..

I think you did pretty well on the redraw, it must have taken some time. How do you want to get it better? I mean the redraw looks pretty darn good, I suppose you could try to add color.

On the business card it appeared to be a pen and ink drawing.. i.e. stippling.. and then there was like a gloss added to the top of it.. which when scanned distorted much of the detail I suppose because much of the fine detail appeared gray.. not the background color of the card.. but gray as in.. not black..

Before I started I said that it would like about 80% to 90% of the original...

Scanning line art for maximum detail:

-scan at the highest optical rez of your scanner, in greyscale mode (do NOT use black and white mode)
-once in Photoshop, upsample to twice or more resolution. (yup, upsampling actually helps gain detail in this instance)
-stick a Threshold (Adjustment) layer on top for preview in black and white
-apply severe Unsharp Masking to sharpen edges. Repeat if necessary.
-clean up bits, if necessary, flatten, convert to 'Bitmap' mode and save.

I actually scanned it in highest.. res.. optical RBG... Desaturated.. and upsampled.. should have worked.. better.. it started out as approx .5 inches tall.
