Hey people - I'm workin on this logo - its for me, so no rush but I need some feedback please. I want it to stayfairly simple so that I can easily change colors for printing. Anyways...lemme know what you think!

I agree!! And it reflects your upbeat personality. The only thing is that I think 'designs' is overpowered by 'thumbsUP' in both examples - but I think I prefer the top example to the reverse. Maybe make 'designs' a bit stronger but I wouldn't want you to change the thumbsUP part cuz I love it!

I am having trouble with the word 'designs'. I'm ok with the placement but for me its not heavy enough either. I tried the reverse to even the weight out but I don't care for that one. The font is Myriad Bold and I like it for the logo, nice and simple. I don't really wanna throw a 2nd font into a logo that is so simple...so I am kinda stuck.

I love the 'thumbsUP' part myself too...but I gotta work on the designs part! Thanks guys!

I'm a bit concerned with the letter spacing of 'designs'. To my eye, letter-spaced lower case letters look too loose. I think that's probably why it's looking too light.

I love Design number one. Great Job D-zine.

The hand and the thumb are excellent - well done.
I'm not sure I like the 'UP' in upper case - my eye seems to linger on it. You could have the 'up' going upwards vertically but that might be too much.
Could you add another word or two before designs so that it stretches the whole width? Or just make the kerning massive?

i too really like it and i also like Benjamin's idea of putting 'up' vertically, maybe making it as tall as the thumb and then maybe i would put the 'design' or all on the same row or maybe vertically like the 'up'..........but maybe that's just a mess.....as everyone says simple is better!

ps out of the 2 up for now i like the first one better...it's less heavy on the right.

1 & 2 are the original ones I posted.

#3 I slightly italisized the "UP" at the suggestion ofKool, bc of the movement that the thumb creates.I also adjusted the kerning some in "designs" and made that italics too.

#4 is the same as #3 except I didn't make "designs" in Italics.

#5 is the same as #1 with the exception of "designs" being in italics and the kerning being pulled in some.

Oh damn...I just realized something. In #'s 3, 4 & 5 where I pulled the kerning in, I'm gonna pull it in a little more so the word "designs" is between the S and P (of thumbsUP). It's almost lines up now but the "d" in designs is a lil farther to the left than it should be I think.

Benjamin and sister - I did try putting the word "UP" vertically...but...I really really thought it looked bad :o( LOL! it was worth a shot tho.

Benjamin - I can't really just add more words to the name to make it stretch across the entire bottom. That's the name! :o) I think increasing the kerning will make it way to loose and it will look even lighter. I'm still tryin to get "designs" to look heavier. I tried other fonts but ewwwe....LOL. I would really prefer sticking to one. I am pretty happy with the overall design and so far I prefer #5 over any of them. I think its almost there.

I really like the thumb, too! :D What if you take 'designs' and put it on the same line as 'thumbsUP'? That might balance it out so it's not so right-heavy.

#3 huh? Hummm..I like #5 too. But I like the skew in #3 bc it continues that movement. I'm torn. LOLOL!! JK! I think #3 is the best thus far too. I can tweak for days but ya gotta stop somewhere I guess...

i like #1. i'm not keen on the italics in any of them. nope.

but i love the simple font and playful use of the hand. nice one! it's so interesting to see typography bastidised and words changed and tweaked so that they're almost unreadable - not really words - but we all know what they are. i don't know...i'm a design geek...but your logo is the type of thing that would have me blahblahblahing to my friends on the way home from the pub until someone smacked me or bought me another beer to shut me up.
