Monotones and Duotones

I have recently been having difficulties with my printers since upgrading to CS. When a Monotone or Duotone image is created in Photoshop then saved as an EPS they tell me that it will only show up as a CMYK image once it is dropped into Illustrator obviously this creates problems with 1 and 2 color jobs.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Let's say the job is Black and PMS blue. Just make the duotone image using 100% black and the pms blue as the secondary colour. The eps gets converted because CMYK is the colour language most printers speak. Same with the monotone image...it's better to make the colour one that you'll be printing with in the final rendition.

Are the files embedded in Illus. If they are they will convert to 4/c - - when placing images make sure that the link option is checked.

Try this and also make sure that the PANTONE names are spelled the same way Illus. you should be o.k. - -but if you place in a layout application this where you need to make sure that the name is exact
