new Quark user with 2 problems

Hi everyone!


Problem 1: When I open a certain *.qxd file, the program splash screen pops up and starts running, but Photoshop splash also appears (to open a Quark file, I see 2 splash screens). Then, the computer works very slow.


Problem 2: When working on a certain file, I delete a blank page, and it reappears. The only thing I can do is to move it to the end of the document, but it will always reappear.


Can you help me?

No clue on problem 1.
The only thing I can think of for problem 2 is that you have a blank Quark doc set up with facing pages and you are trying to delete page 1. There will always be a 'floating' page 1 in your Document Layout palette.

Hmm...maybe you *cough* have 'acquired' a bad copy of Quark?
