B-oredom A-t W-ork

;p

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a 3rd year Graphic
design major, who used to be a computer science
major.

I love design and aesthetics, and especially like talking
about formal and stylistic elements of art. Im' not a sharp
critic, but I know what I see, and I know what I like and
don't like about it.

I'm here to learn, and to offer my advice. If anyone has
any question to aim at me, please do. I have been busy
with life and don't work in the graphics field just yet, but
I'll be posting some design and work of my own for
critique.

I love music. Really, I love it.

I've got diverse interests and love sharing info, so if anyone
has any questions hit me up.

Welcome Akanik! I bet you'll like it here. It is a happy place. ;)

What sort of music do you like?

What school do you go to? I've been trying to convince a few of my classmates at AIO to join here, but so far they haven't shown up.

Welcome to the forum. If your in the NE east coast, we're not to far from eachother. Boston is a hopping town for design, but most think the weather sucks.

Hahaha, I like Boston. A bit cold in the winter though.
I used to date a girl who went to Berklee School of Music.

I go to school in Baltimore, Maryland.
I like a diverse swath of music from post rock and ambient to various
experimental jungle, breaks, jazz, electronic, acoustic, folk, selected
indie rock, hip hop, trip hop, acid jazz, classic rock, etc etc etc.

I'm a firm believer that good music is good music, and once you can
transcend genre boundaries and the such, there is an infinite amount
of music to appreciate.

Oh, and hello everyone - thanks for the warm welcome!

Welcome Akanik!

Ahhhh

While I haven't assimilated too much of it, I love bluegrass. My brother
listens to more than I do, but it's some good old grassroots american
folk music.

They play their instruments mindblowingly well - Mandolin, violin, guitar,
banjo, harmonica, etc etc etc. If you've never seen someone play a
banjo, you've never seen someone pluck a stringed instrument.

Really soulful music, lots of rhythm and melody.

The same goes for Indian music. Very good instrumentalists.

I <3 tabla.

PS - White lightening!

PPS - I've never worked with a mac, but if you give me an internet
connection and a couple hours (maybe days) I can fix anything.

Oh, ooops. I was joking, actually. :D

My aunt listens to it, has since I was a young one. I can't stand it.

Hahaha I can understand why. It's not the most accessable.

I have family in Georgia and uncharted portions of Alabama and
West Virginia which have ludicrously desensitized myself to brash
bumpkin revelry.

That's why I like my okra fried and my tea extra sweet ;)

Me and my brother are like oranges that fell the furthest from
the apple tree which is my geneology.

Seriously though, rural areas of the south are a WHOLE other
world from the metropolitan type environments. A lot slower,
a lot more sincere, a lot more traditional and heartfelt.

Um, you know, good ol' boys!
