Howdy! I'm stepping out of lurk mode to officially bust loose on the scene. I've really enjoyed the spirit of some of the threads (extreme witty banter-ish) and wish to hop on the banter-wagon! :D

I'm a self-taught (well, I took a FEW classes) graphic artist/designer who now works out of her home in sunny Southern California. I left my job as the Graphics Department Manager for a LARGE worldwide insurance firm 3 1/2 years ago when I had my boy/girl twins, Bevan & April. They SO rock! Obviously, raising my kidlets has taken up most of my time. I've had a few freelance jobs over the years to keep my chops up, but mostly it's been all about them. I can't draw to save my life, but I can design a pretty mean 4/4 brochure/flyer/poster/advertisement/whatever. Chardonnay usually helps. A lot. *hic* Oh - and to "date" myself - I remember when MACs where called LISAs and when computers didn't have screens...just the IBM type-balls. Yeesh. Does the game SUMER ring a bell to anyone? (where the heck IS my walker anyway?)

NOW - they are in preschool 1/2 days, and my hubby and I are starting a new business that is 1: online 2: deals with photography 3: deals with graphics so here I am! Back into the fray and happy to be here. Of course I only get to post when they're napping and after bedtime, but hey - at least I'm here! Woohooty!

Anyhoo - howdy, howdy, howdy to all, and I'm looking forward to getting to know folks better. One of these days I'll even come up with a halfway decent sig providing that the synapse gods look favorably upon me.

I am absolutely crazy, possibly because I was born on April Fool's day. That's part of the reason I named my daughter April. Feminine without being TOO girly, plus it still had to be all about ME! Bevan is a family name. I'm an animation FREAK, and do cartoon voices & radio commercials - when the kidlets are in kindergarten I'll start going on auditions again. Music is also big in my house - all kinds.

So - if you're even in So. Cal, drop by. I'll probably be grilling something out of Sunset Magazine in the backyard with house music on the speakers while the kids paint or just get messy being 3 1/2. Life certainly doesn't suck.

Big fat kisses with chocolately goodness to all,
Ariel

Ariel, So glad you found your voice and joined us…Ursala is a mean old which…but inspired my dream of dancing around the office singing that ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ song.

Either way welcome to the funny farm, I’m drorain.

I usually run about stamping people with a plushy mushroom wand…yes that is a metaphor, and kudos if you figure it out ;)

Nice! Welcome from another nubs!

The title of your thread is very witty. And that chocolate loving goodness was just icing on the cake.

This post was typed instinctually. Little cognitive thought went into it at all.

Good evening Zendada! Chocolate and French will always go together - especially if framboises et vin rouge are involved. (red wine & raspberries for y'all Stateside what don't speak Frog).

Drorain: Oh goody! What do I win?!!!! I LOVE mushrooms! *grin*:p
(jumps up and down excitedly clapping like a Hareshuku girl on too much Monster)

Yeah I guess a blueberry pancake takes on a whole new meaning here doesn't it. Although whipped cream still sounds like a good idea :D

Well I certainly do now! Jumped right into THAT one didn't I? I agree with mac.FINN though - whipped cream makes most anything yummy.

Howdy Neballer! Um...you've got something on the side of your mouth. The entire outside of your mouth.

Off to Target. TWO birthday parties tomorrow - one for a 4 year old and one for 3 year old twins. Cake anyone? (or is THAT a metaphor too?)

*snerk*Be nice to the Target employees. Their jobs suck. :D

Welcome to the forum. Most members are clinically insane. I'm here to balance it out with my sanity. Most people try telling me it's the other way around, but I have to disagree.

And FYI, you don't want any mushrooms from Dro. Just take my word for it. ;)

1. I LOVE Target. I feel for their employees as I would not want to necessarily work there. I know people that do.

2. You? Sane? Channeling AJ McLean like that? Sheesh! Bring on the electroshock treatments people!

Bonjour and howdy from Omaha.

You and I have insurance design in common. Nothing says "challenge" like designing for a highly regulated industry. Makes state versioning oh so much more interesting when you have to get it past the legal department.

I too have moved on to freelance. Welcome aboard the friendliest GDF on the internet.

Bonjour and howdy from Omaha.

As in Mutual Of. Yet another insurance company to haunt us! The kids and I were just watching leopard seals munch penguins RIGHT before bedtime. Tasty, eh? Perfect pre-bedtime fare for 3 1/2 year olds. (he's just playing with him honey...really).

I worked for Marsh & McLennan Risk & Ins. Services. Not so much bad in the legal department, but get this. Try getting TACT into the noggin of the Managing Director:
1. Yes, while I realize you want to re-use your cheap-@$$ chinese new year decorations for a good-bye party for one of the brokers.
2. It's in BAD TASTE to have a JAPANESE THEMED PARTY because:
a. He's Hawaiian
b. He's moving BACK to Hawaii (how about a Luau theme?)
c. His birthday AND PARTY DATE is Pearl Harbor Day. DOH!!!
GET THE PICTURE SPARKY?????? (did I say that out loud?):o

Of course she did NOT listen and had the party her way anyhoo. Money does NOT equate taste.

So - thanks for listening to my rant. Thanks also for the welcome and I'll see you around!

WOW!!! I'M BLIND!!! Ya gotcha some o' dem mighty-grand cannons dere missy - hoo-boy howdy! (Ariel rubs her eyes as the vision slowly returns...)

Thanks for the welcome to the group mon peitt chou! I do enjoy it here, and promise NOT to live life too seriously - I can't! And yes, one would miss too much that way. (if ya read my answer you can tell kinda what he*gulp*she said - 'cuz dat's how I roll)

I LOVE the French language. You could tell someone to take out the garbage & they'd follow you home. Of course, living 2 hours from the Mexican border French does me a WHOLE lotta good. The only Spanish I know comes from watching Dora the Explorer with the kids. Of course, there are the three phrases EVERY TOURIST to Mexico MUST know:

1. Mas Cerveza por favor (more beer please)
2. Donde esta mas javez? (where are my keys?)
3. Donde esta los banos? (where are the bathrooms?)

Not necessarily in that order, and 'cuz I didn't take Spanish don't look at my spelling. :p

Oh...I LOVE the WOOT! Thanky!
