Can anyone help me with some masking. I have the top layer as the mask and drew some rectangle over a button, in the layer below is text that motion tweens past the button. I want this as a rollover state, which im making now; for the button.

I want the text to only appear when it passes over the black part of the button; to make it look like a screen.

Nothing is working and to make it worse the buttons over state cursor becomes the enter text pointer thingy, rather than a hand.http://graphicdesignforum.com/emoticons/eyecrazy.gif

Are you in Flash?
Your going to have to make your animation as a seperate movieclip, and put some script on your button to play that clip when the mouse is over the button. Put the mask over the animated clip and everything should work.

It was because of the font used, you can't use other fonts or something unless you embed them.

Also. Ive made this simple movie of a panel that opens to reveal three buttons. In the movie there is a tween of the panel opening then a stop action on that-- and three buttons. How will i make the panel close on mouseOut, yet remove the clicy hand thing from this. Unless the panel is a button I dont seem to be able to add onmouseOut actions. If it was a button that would be 4 buttons in a mc.

At the moment the panel just opens then stops fully opened to show the buttons.
