Hey everybody! My name is Amanda, and I'm a recent graduate looking to jump into this field. I now live in Olympia, Washington--moved up here from Southern California. It's actually a lot harder to find a job up here, but I do love it up here in the Pacific North West :D Actually, I'm hoping to start freelancing and build up to having my own 'graphic design company'. Design really excites me, and I just anticipate actually creating pieces for a client.

I'm of your illustrator/designer variety, and I love talking to other people, seeing their work, and getting great information (yes-I've got high hopes for you guys!) I also love seeing people's 'styles', and I know I've definately got my own.

Well, don't want to bore you guys to sleep; slobber on the keyboard isnt so fun...but hi again and I look forward to talking to you guys :)

Hey Amanda - welcome to the group! I'm a newbie myself and have found everyone to be quite friendly. Pithy, tongue-in-cheeky and friendly.

Where in So. Cal. did you move from? I'm typing from there RIGHT NOW as I design a brochure for our new company.

...do I send a bill to myself? *snerk*:D

I was in Orange County and Long Beach. Miss the beach (well, Huntington Beach lol if you know what I mean..). What you're doing is kind of my own plan lol. I want to work at home after getting some great experience under my belt with some companies. Is it hard working from home?

Well bust my buttons - I'm in Mission Viejo - and my mom was a professor (English) at Golden West since its inception! Small, teeny tiny world, eh? What was the DRAW *snerk* to the Pacific North West? Love of salmon? Rain? Forest Fairies?

My husband keeps threatening to move us to Atlanta or something...I absolutely refuse to leave the beach. Growing up in Corona del Mar & learning to swim at Balboa...who could leave that? I want to give my kids the same great memories.

But I ramble...yes, sometimes it IS hard working from home. I loved bouncing ideas off people at the office - but hey - that's what THIS place is for, n'est pas?

Then again, you can conference call in your bunny slippers - or nekkid. :p

I work from home as well and work my fanny off when the child is napping! Pretty soon she's going to daycare 2 times a week so I can really pound the pavement and hopefully get more clients.
