How I should do it

I am really interested in one of the flash movies;however,I would like to modify and add some elements in it for my boyfriend's birthday's gift. Please kindly advise how I should do it.Thanks

magicly!… you need to be a bit more specific.

Most flash movies are published in .swf format. A .swf published docment can not be edited only viewed.

There for, the first thing you need it an editable file format. If all you have is a.swf then you won't be able to edit it and your sh*t out of luck.

However, if you have a .fla file then you can edited with the appropriate software. The software you need is macromedia/adobe flash or something equivelent.

A free 30 day trial is available from adobe if you need it.

I'm assuming this is for an ecard or something- right?

Chances are you won't be able to edit it because the file is a published .swf. I would say your chances of getting ahold of the origional file are slim to non. Not to drop your hopes just saying.

As for editing the movie itself… thats more difficult. I'm not going to lie- flash is difficult. Depending on the complexity of the file it may also be totally out of reach for someone just beginning. I'm not saying its impossible just alot goes into many movies and in order to edit them you would need to have knowledge of how everything is derived. Without that knolwedge… idk.

Bisically think of it as a cake, someone gives you a cake that's white with white frosting. you wanted chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. You can't go back and turn that white cake into the chocolate, you need the right ingredients, an oven, a set of bowls and most importantly the know how to do it.
