Why is Jada kiss as hard as it gets
Why is the industry design to keep artist in debt...

Oh sorry my bad I got carried away there.

So my question is how come when I export an EPS file from Indesign it makes all the surrounding boxes individuall paths? It's really a pain in the ass if you ask me cause I have to open the EPS in Photoshop and save it again as a Photoshop EPS.

Did I confuse anybody there. Not like anyone is going to answer anyway but what the hell at least I asked.

Is that similar to saving a quark file as an eps, then bringing said eps into Illustrattor, and there are are all kinds of stupid boxes and groupings that shouldn't be there?

Ugghh... ok, the Quark > EPS > Illustrator problem I've experienced and I'd love to know why it happens. And if it can be stopped!

Yea its similar except that with ID it forms a space between the boxes and it prints the space, really ugly stuff man.

The only thing that comes to mind is that you may have created something in ID that is difficult to interpret by postscript. I had a similar problem with using ID's drop shadows on top of other page elements with transparancy, and I'd get an ugly white box around the drop shadow.

Do a test with a simpler file in ID and see how the EPS is handled then.

btw, are you using version 2 or CS? OS9 or OSX?

I'm using ID 2.0 on OSX 10.3.

What I did was open the file in Photoshop and I had no problems. I already send it to print and I was there while he opened it. Looks fine for now.

What is that simplify thing your talking about D-frag?

Benjo...is ID 2.0 slow for you?? I remembered it being slow and it bothered me...was curious! ID CS doesn't run slow does it??? I guess in a way I am SO use to quark and being able to move my sh!t fast when doin layout...I wanna be able to do that with ID too...LOL

didn't mean to derail - my bad :oP

No it's not slow at all. I like ID alot I just haven't figured out a few things but it works pretty well so far. I want to move all my stuff to ID eventually although I don't know it thats the best choice. I'm using 2.0 so maybe I should look into upgrading but I'll just waite till 4.0 drops I feel fine with 2.0 right now.
