that is 16.25' wide by 8.5' high. It has three panels. I know that the inner panel should be a bit smaller in width so the brochure can fold flat. So, would 1/16' be enough of a difference? The panels would be 5.4375, 5.4375, and 5.3750.
Thanks for your help friends.
I would call the printer cause it all depends on what kind of machine they are using to fold.

You are making the inner panel smaller? I'm confused :o( I have always done my panels all the same size. When they were hand folded and went through a folding machine, they came out fine every time.
Yeah...I would call the printer. If ever in doubt on something like that...call the printer :o)

FYI: My printer said that 1/16' is enough if it matters to anyone.

I'm working on a brochure very similar to that as well.
I make the panel equal with this job cause it's non bleed...the shift is very minor anyway for anyone to really notice.

So the inner panel is only smaller if it's a document that bleeds? Hmm...I always thought it was so it could fold nicely. I don't know that my instructor really knew much when we went over brochures in college anyway.

actually what a meant to say is if there is something (like a picture) that goes right to a fold. they you would have ot be percise. so would the printer. those are the worse to fold.

its different everytime, depends on the printer, folder, design..etc. you just gotta call it as it happens, but mathmatically speaking one page is going to be smaller then the other 2 because of the fold. Hence having your 1st page on the outside, slightly smaller, and the last page on the inside slightly smaller, it all adds up in the end.
