Hello,

I have order some business cards from an online printing website in the past.

Sometimes (let's say I ordered a box of 1,000 bc's) the business cards tends to curl after a while.

What could be the reason for that? the paper quality, atmosphere? any Ideas?

I have cross-ship business cards to different clients using the same printing vendor and a few of them have ask me about this issue.

Regards,

I have had this happen before as well. It's a combination of the paper stock and the humidity in the air. I ended up getting a better stock and printing them closer and the quality was much better. Sometimes the packaging can have something to do with it, but you would be able to see that right away.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply!

Well the card stock that im getting is 12 & 14 pt . I guess the most important factor would be the humidity, that would be my client problem, maybe hes storing them in a humid environment.

So in the future, if a client want's a reinbursement of his business cards due to curling, what would be a good response to him?

Thanks!

Explain to him the ramifications of a 'cheap' stock... use the word "less-costly" or "inexpensive". Are you using 12 - 14 pt. because it has a glossy coating? I would recommend using a stock of 80#. Especially if it's curling, but it all depends on the look of the card, the printer and the client.

If he is requesting a refund or something, talk to whomever printed them. Find out from the client where they store them and how. Then the printer might be able to give you a better answer.
