We have had an ESX-500 for about a year now. We keep having trouble with the PC we use to drive it. In the middle of a job it will just stop working. Our supplier has been no help at all. We keep changing different things but nothing ever helps. Does anyone know the correct OS and hardware we should be using to run this thing? At the moment we are using Windows 2000 since they say that XP won't work. Anyone have ANY ideas how we can solve this issue?

Have you tried calling the manufacturer direct?
ESX sounds like a rebrand. Who actually makes the printer?
It could be any number of things. The usuals are:
Do you have enough ram/processing speed in the comp?
Does every file quit half way thru or only intermittent? Any pattern? Big images with too much DPI perhaps?

The manufacturer is Roland. They have not been any help. I suspect you are on the right track but we have checked all the obvious things you mentioned. The difficult part is that there is no pattern. Everything it does seems to be random. If we could find out what the proper specs are suppose to be for the PC it would be helpful. No one seems to know... thanks for your help.

Don't know if this place might be willing to help you, but I found them after I Googled your printer: http://www.53colours.com/largeformat.html
They're a vendor, but they might be willing to help, it's something I'd try in a pinch.

We have had the same intermittent problem.
It's happened to me printing the last foot of 20 foot banners...arghhh.
Have you managed to find out what the problem is?
I noticed that 'Unhandled Exception" error appears on the ESX-500 LCD after cancelling the job.
